Dr. Mathew was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She attended the University of Calgary where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and continued her education in Bloomington, Indiana where she attended Indiana University School of Optometry. During her training, Dr. Mathew completed externship rotations in Indianapolis and Jeffersonville, Indiana, Louisville, Kentucky, and in Calgary. In these settings, she worked with many optometrists and ophthalmologists, gaining invaluable knowledge in patient care, and practicum experience in many areas of ocular health. She enjoys all aspects of optometry but is particularly interested in ocular disease and contact lenses. Dr. Mathew is dedicated to patient care and management and strives for patient satisfaction.
Dr. Mathew is passionate about bullying prevention and launched an anti-bulling initiative at Deerfoot City Optometry to help educate and spread awareness of the effects of bullying in our schools and communities. Dr. Mathew looks forward to participating in Brown Bags for Calgary Kids in the near future.
